Barcelona agree big-money deal for France star

If, as some sources have reported, Barcelona have ambitions relating to bringing Antoine Griezmann to the Camp Nou, they could be set to be disappointed.

When asked whether he spoke to United boss Mourinho - who is a huge admirer of the France international - on the phone regularly, Griezmann answered: 'No'.

Atletico Madrid failing to reduce their transfer ban saw Griezmann stay where he was, get a pay rise, and see his buyout clause raised to €200m, but with the condition it then returns to the 'normal' level of €100m so the Frenchman can leave in the summer.

Despite Griezmann's new deal, the 26-year-old has revealed that the prospect of becoming part of Unai Emery's vaunted strike force would appeal to him.

Antoine Griezmann made no secret last summer of his desire to join Manchester United, with the player's repeated media hints making things absolutely obvious.

He is once again being linked with a transfer away, with Atletico allegedly already preparing for his departure, though according to Le10sport it is Barcelona who now hold the upper hand.

Manchester City are monitoring Breel Embolo, claims the Mail, just months after the Swiss forward joined Schalke from Basel.

"We have to make sure that we taper that in with the way we work". The arrival of Diego Costa in January might be a factor in his departure as well.

The former Manchester United manager is set to address a leaky back-line that has been responsible for conceding 23 goals in 11 Premier League games so far. With both sides rivals to beat the drop, the Hammers face coughing up a sizeable transfer fee.
