Nokia 3 will jump straight to Android 8.0 Oreo

If this report is to materialize, the company might put out the dates very soon. That's right, both the Nokia 9 and Nokia 8 (2018) will not include a 3.5mm headphone jack. Reports also suggest, alongside the Nokia 9, HMD Global may also unveil another phone - which may the 2018 edition of the Nokia 8. Two new smartphones are expected to be unveiled at the event - Nokia 9 and the second-generation Nokia 8. Whether this display will have an 18:9 aspect ratio is yet to be seen but, considering the phone is launching in 2018 and will be a flagship device, the bezels might be shrunken and considerably thinner than the ones found on the Nokia 8. It was also suggested that devices will not have Google service and they will come with other local counterparts.

Nokia 9 is widely anticipated as the successor the Nokia 8, and it appears that the Nokia 9 could be launched as early as the 19th of January. Its not impossible – the original Pixels got Treble (of course), but so did the Essential Phone along with the Huawei Honor 9 and Honor 8 Pro. Well, makers will have a much easier time porting new versions of Android to their phones with Treble in place.

Earlier this year in September, a Geekbench listing revealed the specifications of the Nokia 9. However, previous leaks indicated towards more RAM variants; one with 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. MyDrivers has leaked a screenshot that shows the price of Nokia 9. Nokia 8's 2018 edition may also fall somewhat at the similar price segment. On the camera front, the Nokia 9 and Nokia 8 (2018) are expected to feature a dual camera setup and IP67 certification, which will protect the phones from both water and dust protection.
