Bear still the best — Saban

And this particular new, huge wave of Alabama talent is just getting started.

Amid the euphoria following Alabama's thrilling 26-23 overtime win against Georgia in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game Monday, coach Nick Saban took a well-deserved victory lap around the sidelines at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

The Alabama dynasty continued, but Smart said Georgia will contend for more titles. Saban also competes in a deeper SEC where more schools have the resources to field consistent title contenders. At first, Tagovailoa followed Fromm's lead, taking a 16-yard sack that pushed Alabama to the 41-yard line and put it in a perilous situation, especially given the state of its kicking game.

But until the games begin again, here is what's on deck for this football team. "They deserve this ranking". "That's something unique to our team". While the cast changes, some constants will remain. The Bulldogs beat Oklahoma in a wild Rose Bowl in double overtime to get here, and after Jonathan Ledbetter and Davin Bellamy sacked Tagovailoa for a big loss on the first play, Alabama was in trouble - second-and-26.

It certainly appears that the Southeastern Conference is set up for good quarterback play over the next several years.

The same is going to be true at Alabama.

AL.com reports that after the interview, Tagovailoa went into the stands and prayed with his family.

Terrell Lewis, who was only playing in his third game back since Week 1, came up with a huge sack in overtime.

If you watched for a half, but moved on, too bad for you. That's a pretty sweet deal for all involved - except the athletes.

In a first half that was dominated by defense, Georgia took a 13-0 lead.

Below is a video of Tagovailoa's postgame interview.

Two freshman players remained calm when no one else would.

"Jalen and Tua have a phenomenal relationship", tight end Hale Hentges said. "Because they're the New York Giants", Arians said. He had the audacity to bench an excellent quarterback who was having an off day, replacing him with an untested freshman. He slid between three Georgia defenders as quarterback Tua Tagovailoa rolled left and fired a dart Ridley hauled in with 3:49 left to tie things at 20.

None of those plays phased him, even on the biggest of stages. End Da'Shawn Hand, linebackers Rashaan Evans and Shaun Dion Hamilton and defensive backs Tony Brown, Minkah Fitzpatrick and Levi Wallace must be replaced.

In response to Aber, Ed Daigneault of the Republican-American in Connecticut said that he too had voted UCF as the No. 1 team in the nation. Rodrigo Blankenship stepped up and cooly hit a 51-yard field goal anyway for the 23-20 Georgia lead. It was the right side, it was Georgia and I would have to go out on the field and go back on defense. Auburn has to come to Tuscaloosa next season. Hard for me to imagine what it would be like not being a part of a team. Under Saban, Alabama has every expectation of winning the championship every single year no matter how many first-round draft picks leave the year before. But we're saying there's a chance. The low came when Tagovailoa threw a peculiar interception on what looked like a designed run call.

It's Saban's sixth national title overall, tying him with fellow Alabama great Bear Bryant, and it's his fifth at Alabama since 2009. But the NFL, and the Giants, exert their own definite pull factors and lures that could yet result in the offseason's most startling coaching hire.
