If Oprah Winfrey runs for president, 'I will back her — Steven Spielberg

The 54-year-old singer took it one step further, captioning the meme that Winfrey knew about the various sexual misconduct allegations against Weinstein. Her delivery was so moving, in fact, that at-home viewers and celebrities alike immediately began wishing out loud that she would run for president in the next election cycle.

Seal captioned the post, "Oh I forgot, that's right... you'd heard the rumours but you had no idea he was actually serially assaulting young starry-eyed actresses who in turn had no idea what they were getting into". "When you have been part of the problem for decades but they suddenly all think you are the solution", the meme read, layered on top of photos of Oprah posing with flaming pile of dung Harvey Weinstein.

Several hours later, Seal posted a video to Facebook explaining his stance, and claiming that sharing the meme was not a direct attack on Winfrey. What I re-posted was not an attack on Oprah at all, she just happened to be the person photographed with the pig [Weinstein] in the picture. "What I re-posted was commentary on the hypocritical and double-standard nature and behavior of Hollywood". But the singer has accused the media maven of being an example of 'sanctimonious Hollywood'.

"Stacy Dash, keep my name out of your mouth", he said. You live in the sunken place.

Sixty-four percent of respondents have a favourable view of Winfrey, including 43 percent of Trump supporters, according to the NPR, PBS NewsHour and Marist survey. "#RealTalk for a second we all know what would happen to any one of those power abusers if they looked like me". "How about #Accountability?" he suggested.

"Seal added the hashtag "#SanctimoniousHollywood".
