Yerry Mina joins Barcelona — OFFICIAL

FC Barcelona have signed Colombia center-back Yerry Mina from Brazilian side Palmeiras, the Catalan club announced.

Barcelona are apparently prepared to build on their talent base and invest in future with Luan expected to develop into a world-star in the future.

In its official statement, FC Barcelona reports that it has reached a transfer agreement with Palmeiras for €11.8 million.

Barca have also been linked with a move for Antoine Griezmann, but that is likely to come in the summer.

However, Mina has joined early, signing a five-and-a-half year deal with a release clause of €100 million (£88.5 million), with hopes he can settle quickly in La Liga.

The Colombian will wear the No24 shirt and follows the £145m deal for Philippe Coutinho made last week.

Mina isn't on the same level in terms of transfer fee, though.

But despite the issues the deal has been done with the club shop ready to print his shirts. Barcelona said the match served as a trial for Mosquera, who did not join the club. In fact, in his first season with the Brazilian team he was chosen as the best centre back of the Campeonato Paulista in 2017.

Barcelona faces Celta Vigo at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the Round of 16 in Copa del Rey action at Camp Nou in Barcelona. Barcelona has a nine-point lead over Atletico Madrid at the halfway point.
