Speaking to MUTV ahead of Sunday's clash against his former club West Bromwich Albion at Old Trafford, Lukaku opened up on how he has targeted records since he began his playing career and why he believes in the qualities he possesses.
The three-man midfield formation worked very well for Manchester United last weekend against City and Mourinho is likely to go into Sunday's game with a similar setup, meaning Ander Herrera starts once again in the middle alongside the consistent and reliable Nemanja Matic and United's hero from the last game, Paul Pogba.
Jose Mourinho has faith in his high-profile duo, but the Manchester United manager could do better picking some of his less well-known squad members.
Second-place United dragged the title race out for at least another week by winning 3-2 at City last weekend, only to gift the trophy to City by losing to a team that is destined for relegation and had just one league win since August.
City's 93 goals in the Premier League this season makes them by far and away the top scorers in England and whilst some have questioned their defence they have still conceded fewer than anyone else too.
The frontman has been in fine for the Red Devils and scored his 100 Premier League goal against Swansea City.
In the reasons explaining its verdict, the FA said the "essential issue for us boiled down to one question - are we satisfied the player [Rodriguez] probably said to GB [Gaetan Bong]: "You're black and you stink'?"
Alongside a photo of Rodriguez celebrating and the scoreline, West Brom tweeted: "You're welcome, @ManCity". Six years later, the finale was much more underwhelming, with Rodriguez nodding in from a corner to silence the majority of Old Trafford and set up one of the most surprising wins of the season. I think United will win. If I fail, it's no problem.
"That is when alarm bells started ringing in my head and I knew I needed to speak to the players".
